The new generation is growing up in a world that is changing at an extremely fast pace. Exponential innovations are drastically changing the way we live and the way we work and young people are developing an entirely new vision on what’s important and what’s not. More and more people are starting businesses or engage in entrepreneurship and the most wanted jobs of yesterday are old-fashioned today. How can we best prepare the future generation for an unknown future and how should existing corporations be reformed to attract and keep the new generation of highly talented and motivated people? Bas represents a new generation that has an entirely new view on how we should work and live. He explains how weird ideas of young people ultimately lead to groundbreaking innovations, and why such ideas should be incorporated in modern-day education to prepare the next generation for an indistinct future. He also shares how current enterprises could reshape themselves to become attractive for the top talents of tomorrow.
Bas Verkaik is the founder of SPIKE technologies, a company that develops and produces advanced battery solutions designed to power any application. He is also the co-initiator of the TU/e Innovation Space, a new institute at Eindhoven University of Technology that aims to drastically renew university education by having students from different study programs work on social challenges in collaboration with companies.
